Navigate Marketing and take a quick glance at your data and activity.

Dotdigital Marketing is a large platform with lots of areas to explore, and this article is here to help you find your way around:

1. Navigation

The left-hand navigation panel is used to go to all the different areas of your Marketing account.

The navigation panel is always available and can be used freely at anytime, from anywhere in Marketing.

You can expand and collapse the navigation panel by selecting Close/Open panel icon (11).


2. App switcher

Select the App switcher icon to move between Dotdigital Apps.

Choose from:

  • Marketing

  • Personalization

Or, find out more about other apps also by Dotdigital:

  • Alia

  • Social Snowball


3. Home

Select Home to return to the Homepage.

Don’t worry, we always remind you to save your work before we take you back.


4. Audience

Your audience is made up of contacts; the email addresses and mobile numbers that you store in Marketing.

Expand the Audience drop-down menu and select one of the following areas:

Lists

Contacts

Segments

Personas

Suppressions


5. Campaigns

Create custom-built campaigns and send them to your contacts.

Expand the Campaigns drop-down menu and select one of the following areas:

Email

SMS

WhatsApp

Push notifications


6. Content

Utilise Marketing’s tools to build engaging content and grow your contact lists.

Expand the Content drop-down menu and select one of the following areas:

Templates

Surveys, pages, and forms

Images

Products


7. Automation

Automate your workflows and everyday tasks using programs, triggered email, SMS, MMS, and WhatsApp campaigns, or push notifications.

Expand the Automation drop-down menu and select one of the following areas:

8. Chat

Offer instant one-to-one support to your customers by installing our chat widget to your site.

9. Analytics

Track the performance of your accounts, channels, and commerce.

Expand the Analytics drop-down menu and select one of the following areas:

Account analytics

Dashboards

View your data using dashboards for the following areas:

Reports

Custom reports


10. Connect

Seamlessly integrate and manage data flows in your account.

Learn more in the Integrations and Commerce collections of our Help Centre.

Select Connect to open the Connect page and select one of the following areas:

Connect and explore

Data management

Manage contact and Insight data, and view or edit your commerce settings.


11. Open/Close panel

Select the icon to expand or close the left side navigation panel.


12. Account menu

Manage your settings, teams, users, billing and payment details.

Select the Account menu icon and select one of the following areas:

Your profile

Settings

Notifications

  • See your account notifications for events like completed imports and campaign cancellations.

What we’re working on

Logout

If you’re done for the day, or taking a well-earned break, keep your data secure by logging out of Marketing.

To help you maintain data security, we automatically log you out after a period of inactivity.


13. Overall activities

An at a glance comparison of your recent email, SMS, and Surveys, pages, and forms performance.

Metrics

Each metric infographic shows a percentage increase or decrease in comparison to the previous data range.

Change the activity area

To display metrics from different areas of your account:

  1. Expand the activity drop-down menu.

  2. Choose from Email, SMS, or Surveys, pages, and forms.

Change the date range

The date range works by comparing the metrics from a chosen date range to the previous date range of the same length. For example, today’s metrics compares to yesterday’s, and last week’s metrics compares to the week before.

To change the date range:

  1. Expand the Date range drop-down menu.

  2. Choose a date range, up to the last 30 days/the last month.


14. Recent activity

A list of your most recently sent emails and SMS messages, and published Surveys, pages, and forms.

Change the activity area

To display recent activity from different areas of your account:

  1. Expand the activity drop-down menu.

  2. Choose email, SMS, or Surveys, pages, and forms.


15. Continue where you left off

This area shows you the last pieces of content you worked on in your account.

To continue working with an item:

  1. Find the item you want to work on.

  2. Select any tile to jump straight to editing, or expand the three dots more actions menu to choose an action for the item.

    Depending on what you choose, the action options are different. The table below shows all actions for each item type.

Change the view

To choose between content you worked on and content worked on by all users across the account:

  1. Find the View toggle in the top right of the Continue where you left off section.

  2. Select the one-person icon to view the content you are personally working on.
    Select the three-person icon to view content being worked on by all users.
