Upload new images

  1. In EasyEditor, in the left-side menu, expand the Images section.

  2. Select the + icon to add an image.

  3. On the file upload window, find and select the image you want to upload.

  4. You can also drag images from your computer into the Images side panel.

If you want to upload multiple images, organise your images into folders, or crop, resize, and edit images, select Manage to open the image manager.

Image types and size limit

Accepted file types for images are JPG, JPEG, PNG, and GIF. The maximum file size for an image that you can upload is 10MB.

If you upload an image near the size limit, the system may resize it to ensure successful upload. As a result, the final resolution of the uploaded image may be smaller than what was initially shown during upload.

Search for images

Use the search bar at the top of the image panel to find the image you want to use. You can search by:

  • Object – for example, dog, tree, or car.

  • Scene – for example, beach, city, or forest.

  • File name – enter part or all of the image name.

  • Upload date – enter the first three letters or the full name of a month followed by a year, for example, Jan 2024 or January 2024.

The search uses Dotdigital AI to identify and return images based on their visual content. For example, entering dog returns all images that contain a dog, even if the file name doesn’t include the word.

Add an image into your campaign

Once your images appear in the side panel, you can drag and drop them directly into your template.

As you drag the image over the template, dropbars appear above and below existing blocks and containers showing you the positions you can insert your image. Release the image over a dropbar to insert it there. It's automatically added inside an image block.

If you're inserting an image into a text area, then as you drag the image over the block, a drop box appears to show you where you can place the image. Release the image to insert it into the template. Images dropped into your template are automatically scaled in proportion.

Delete an image

To delete an image from the side panel, drag the image onto the trash can icon.

The image Styles panel

Once you’ve dropped an image into your campaign, the Styles tab automatically opens on the left hand side. Here, you can:

  • Replace, crop, or delete the image.

  • Add a link or alt text.

  • Edit the width, height and alignment.

  • Change the background colour of the image block.

  • Add or edit borders and padding.

Add alt text

Alt text in images is important to include for accessibility purposes.

Enter the alt text you want to use for the image.

You can also add alt text in the Image manager. Alt text you add in the Styles panel persists for this campaign only, and doesn’t overwrite the alt text present in the Image manager.

Size and alignment

To change the image size, enter the height or width in pixels you want the image to be. The ratio of the image is maintained automatically.

To change the image alignment, select from the left, right, and centre icons. If your image is within a text block, you can also select the Inline option ensures that you can display your image with text above and below it.

Background colour

Enter a hex code or select the paint can icon to change the background colour of the image block.

Borders and padding

Borders can be added to each edge of the image block. You can select the weight—thickness—as well as the style and colour of the border.

Padding can be set to add space to each side of your image, setting a distance between the image and the edge of the image block.

Edit images in the Image manager

You can use the image manager to access additional image editing options.
