Integrate Norce Commerce with Dotdigital Marketing

Automatically sync your Norce Commerce products, orders, and customers to Marketing.

Written by Bartlomiej Rekosiewicz

Norce Commerce is an ecommerce platform for retailers in the Nordic region. When you connect your Norce Commerce store to Dotdigital Marketing, your product, order, and contact data syncs to Marketing every hour. You don’t need to set up API or SFTP imports.

Benefits

With your Norce Commerce data in Marketing, you can:

  • Gain insights into your sales using the Retail dashboard.

  • Segment your customers using RFM analysis, and target your efforts where they're needed most.

  • Show product recommendations in your campaigns.

  • Show prices from your Norce Commerce price lists in your campaigns, so contacts see prices in their currency.

Before you start

  • You need access to your Norce Commerce account to get your connection details.

  • Norce Commerce doesn't store marketing consent. The integration creates contacts with your account's default opt-in status, not the consent they gave in your store.

  • You must capture opt-ins and opt-outs another way, for example from your storefront.

  • The integration only works with Norce Commerce production environments. It doesn’t work with sandbox environments.

  • The integration counts towards the integrations included in your package.

Connect Norce Commerce

  1. In Marketing, go to Connect > Integrations.

  2. In the left menu, under Show, select Self-serve.

  3. Find Norce Commerce, then select +Add.

  4. Select Install.

  5. Enter your Norce Commerce connection details:

    • Client ID and Client secret
In Norce Admin, go to Settings > Users > OAuth, then open your application’s configuration.

    • The OAuth user must have access to the Norce Query resource.

      • API host
        The format is [clientname].api-[region].norce.tech.

      • App ID
In Norce Commerce, go to Settings > Application and copy the app id.

  6. Select Finish.
Your data starts to sync immediately.

What syncs to Marketing

The integration syncs these data types every hour:

  • Products

  • Orders

  • Contacts, created from orders

You can't choose which data types sync, or map additional data fields.

Contact data

The integration only creates contacts from orders. When an order syncs for a customer who doesn't exist in Marketing, the integration creates a contact with these details:

  • Email address

  • First name

  • Last name

If the contact already exists in Marketing, the order is added to their Insight data.

Contacts aren’t added to a list. If Norce Commerce is your only source of order data, you can find these contacts by creating a segment based on their order data.

Opt-in status

Contacts created by the integration have your account's default opt-in status. Norce Commerce doesn't send opt-outs to Marketing, so make sure your storefront or another integration keeps consent up to date.

Product data

All products in your Norce Commerce catalogue sync to an Insight data collection called catalog_norce_commerce. This includes product details and images.

Each product also includes:

  • Stock details

Stock on hand, incoming stock, and stock reserved by customers.

  • Prices from each price list
For every price list in Norce Commerce, each product has its price, currency, and price list name.

Prices in multiple currencies

The integration syncs a price for every price list you set up in Norce Commerce. There's no limit to the number of price lists.

You might have more than one price list in the same currency. For example, you might have separate euro prices for Spain and Greece. Use the price list name to tell them apart.

Each price list adds a currency field and a price field to the product, named after the price list. For example, a price list called Swedish kronor adds Swedish_kronor_currency and Swedish_kronor_price_sale.

To show each contact the right price in your campaigns and product recommendations, you can use Liquid to select the price list and display its price. To help with this, contact our Professional Services team.

To see how the price list fields are named, see Example: Norce Commerce product data.

Example: Norce Commerce product data

This example shows a product in the catalog_norce_commerce Insight data collection. The product has two price lists: Swedish kronor and Norwegian krone.

  • additional_prices
Has one entry per price list. Each entry includes the price list name, plus a currency field and a price field. The field names start with the price list name, for example, Swedish_kronor_currency and Swedish_kronor_price_sale.

  • onHand
Holds the stock details: OnHandValue (stock on hand), IncomingValue (incoming stock), and ReservationValue (stock reserved by other customers).

Order data

Orders sync to a standard orders Insight data collection. Each order includes:

  • billing address

  • delivery address

  • the products ordered

If an order's status changes in Norce Commerce, the change syncs to Marketing in the next hourly sync.

Abandoned cart and abandoned browse

The integration doesn’t sync cart or browsing data. To use abandoned cart and abandoned browse, add the Dotdigital Tag to your storefront.
