Add Trustpilot reviews to campaigns, pages, and forms

Showcase the highly rated products and services available on your store to your contacts and potentially increase your orders.

Trustpilot reviews App blocks let you add recent 5-star product and service reviews from your Trustpilot account to your email campaigns, pages, and forms in EasyEditor. The reviews come from the Trustpilot Reviews integration, which syncs them into your Marketing account.

The blocks display reviews. They don't collect them. To ask your customers for reviews, use review invitations. Learn more in Send Trustpilot product and service review invitations with Marketing.

Before you start

  • The Trustpilot Reviews integration must be installed on your account. Learn more in Integrate Trustpilot Reviews with Marketing.

  • Reviews only appear in the blocks once the integration has synced them. The integration syncs a review once it's verified and published, and it needs Webhook Notifications enabled in your Trustpilot account. Only 5-star reviews are synced for use in EasyEditor blocks. Learn more in Integrate Trustpilot Reviews with Marketing.

  • Trustpilot Reviews must be enabled in your account's EasyEditor extensions. Learn more in EasyEditor extensions: App blocks overview.

  • Trustpilot reviews App blocks can be used in email campaigns and surveys, pages and forms.

  • Trustpilot App blocks can be placed on the base canvas and inside columns. They cannot be placed in dynamic content blocks. You can place them inside base Container blocks in the Surveys, pages, and forms EasyEditor.

  • If you've connected more than one Trustpilot account, reviews from all of them sync into the same place in your Marketing account. This can make reviews harder to manage if each Trustpilot account is for a different brand.

App block types

The following Trustpilot Reviews App blocks are available to use in your email campaigns and pages and forms:

App block

Description

Required information

Product: Brand

Shows up to three of the most recent 5-star reviews for a brand you choose.

Enter the brand exactly as it appears in your store's product data, including spaces, capitalisation, and symbols. Use the brand from your store, not from Trustpilot.

Product: Name

Shows up to three of the most recent 5-star reviews for a product you choose.

Enter the product name exactly as it appears in your store's product data, including spaces, capitalisation, and symbols. Use the name from your store, not from Trustpilot.

Product: SKU

Shows up to three of the most recent 5-star reviews for a product you choose.

Enter the product's SKU exactly as it appears in your store's product data.

Product: Recent 5-star

Shows up to three of the most recent 5-star product reviews from your Trustpilot account.

This block does not require you to enter any product information.

Service: Recent 5-star

Shows up to three of the most recent 5-star service reviews from your Trustpilot account.

This block does not require you to enter any service information.

When you set up a block, you choose how many reviews it shows, up to a maximum of three. If fewer reviews match than the number you chose, or none match, nothing appears in place of the block.

You don't need to sync your product data to Marketing to use these blocks. The brand, name, or SKU you enter only has to match your store.

When the reviews update

In email campaigns, the block gets its reviews each time the campaign sends. This includes triggered campaigns and program emails, so contacts who receive the same campaign on different days can see different reviews.

The block shows some of the most recent 5-star reviews that have synced to your account. These aren't always the newest ones. If the same reviews keep appearing, check that new reviews are syncing from Trustpilot. Learn more in the Before you start section.

Add app blocks in EasyEditor

  1. In EasyEditor, go to Build > Trustpilot reviews.

  2. Drag a Trustpilot reviews block onto the canvas.

  3. Select the block to open the settings side panel.

  4. Complete the available fields in the side panel for the App block. Learn more in the App block types section.

  5. To save, select Apply.

  6. Select Preview to open the preview tool and see what your App block looks like.

Trustpilot reviews isn't in the Build tab

  • Make sure the blocks are enabled in Connect > EasyEditor extensions. Disabled App blocks don't appear in EasyEditor.

  • Check that you entered your domain as the Business Unit Name when you installed the integration, for example dotdigital.com, not your Trustpilot business ID. If you entered the business ID, delete the integration and install it again using your domain.

  • If neither of these fixes it, delete the integration and install it again.

A Trustpilot reviews block doesn't appear in your campaign, page, or form

A block doesn't appear at all if fewer reviews match than the number you chose when you set it up.

  • For a Product: Brand, Product: Name, or Product: SKU block, check that the value you entered matches your store's product data exactly. Copy it from the product in your store, then select Apply again. If a Product: Recent 5-star block appears but your brand or product block doesn't, the value you entered probably doesn't match your store.

  • If the value is right, there may not be enough 5-star reviews for that brand or product yet. Choose a lower number of reviews for the block, then select Apply again.

Edit App block styles

To style the content of your App blocks, on the EasyEditor canvas, select the App block to open the style options, then select Style content at the bottom of the side panel.

Block details

The styles side panel displays basic details that can be customised for each App block.

These details might include names, review counts, or colours used for App block elements. Follow the on-screen guidance to make changes to these details.

Review star colour picker

To change the colour of your review stars, use the colour picker. You can choose from the colours already used in the campaign or select a completely different colour.

Learn more about using the Style manager in Choose and manage styles.
