Every time you generate bulk coupons in Magento Open Source and Adobe Commerce, you create a coupon job. The *Dotdigital Bulk Coupons* page lists all your coupon jobs, so you can track their progress, see what each job was set up to do, and check for failures.
You can also cancel a coupon job that's still running and delete jobs you no longer need.
View your coupon jobs
In Adobe Commerce (or Magento OS), go to Marketing > Dotdigital Bulk Coupons.
The job list shows the following for each coupon job:
Sales Rule
The cart price rule the job uses.Website
The website the job was created for.Status
Where the job is in its lifecycle. Learn more in the Coupon job statuses section.Job Configuration
The job's settings: the list or segment the codes were sent to and its ID, the data field the codes are saved in, the expiry date if you set one, and a preview of the code format.Job Details
How many batches and contacts the job has processed, as a count and a percentage.Job Failures
Any failures recorded while the job ran. Learn more in the View job failures section.Created At and Updated At
When the job was created and when it last changed.Action
The actions you can take on the job, depending on its status.
Coupon job statuses
Status | What it means |
Pending | The job has been created and is waiting to start. |
Processing | Codes are being generated and sent to Marketing. |
Complete | Every batch has finished. |
Failed | The job stopped because of an error. Check Job Failures for details. |
Cancelled | The job was cancelled before it finished. |
How batches work
Coupon jobs process contacts in batches of 2,000. For example, a job for 1,000,000 contacts runs as 500 batches. Batch size is fixed and can't be changed.
Job Details shows how many batches and contacts have been processed so far. A job is complete once every batch has finished.
View job failures
If anything goes wrong while a job runs, Job Failures shows a count of the failures and a View link. Failures fall into two groups:
Import(s) have failures
Marketing couldn't save one or more codes to contacts. Select View to see the email address, failure code, and description for each failure.
Consumer(s) have failures
Magento couldn't generate codes for a batch. For example, the cart price rule was deleted while the job was running. Select View to see the error message for each failure.
If there are no failures, Job Failures shows "No failures recorded for this job."
A job with no contacts in its list or segment fails straight away. Check that the list or segment has contacts, then create a new job.
Cancel a coupon job
You can cancel a job while its status is Pending or Processing.
In Magento, go to Marketing > Dotdigital Bulk Coupons.
In the Action column for the job, select Cancel.
In the confirmation window, select OK.
The job's status changes to Cancelled and no new batches start. Any batch that's already being processed finishes first.
Codes already saved to your contacts in Marketing stay in the data field. To replace them, create a new job with the same data field.
Delete a coupon job
You can delete a job once its status is Complete, Failed, or Cancelled. You can't delete a job that's still running.
Deleting a job only removes it from the job list. It doesn't delete the codes in Magento or remove them from the data field in Marketing.
To delete one job:
In Magento, go to Marketing > Dotdigital Bulk Coupons.
In the Action column for the job, select Delete.
In the confirmation window, select OK.
To delete several jobs at once:
Select the checkbox for each job you want to delete.
Expand the Actions drop-down menu, then select Delete.
In the confirmation window, select OK.
Any running jobs you selected are skipped. You can't undo deleting a job.
