Personas order filters allow you to focus Personas reporting on a subset of your order data. You can use order filters to analyse customers for a specific region, business unit, or other order attribute stored in your order data.
Before you start
The order data you want to filter on must exist in your order schema.
Create an order filter
In Dotdigital Marketing, go to Audience > Personas.
Select Filters.
Under Order filters, select No rules active.
Select [click to select order data].
Choose the order field you want to filter on.
Choose an operator.
Enter or select a value.
Add additional rules if required.
Select Apply.
Apply a contact filter
Contact filters allow you to restrict reporting to contacts in a specific list or segment.
Unlike order filters, contact filters do not recalculate Personas data.
Go to Audience > Personas.
Select Filters.
Under Contact filters, select Showing all.
For Only show report data for contacts, choose either In the selected list or In the selected segment.
Select the required list or segment.
The report updates to show only matching contacts.
Contact filters restrict the contacts displayed in Personas reporting. They do not affect persona calculations.
Refresh Personas data
When you apply or update an order filter, Marketing automatically refreshes Personas using the filtered dataset.
Create a segment from filtered Personas data
After applying an order filter and refreshing Personas, you can create a segment from a persona.
You can create segments from the RFM Personas, Persona movement, and Opportunities dashboard tabs. The steps below use the RFM Personas tab as an example.
In Go to Audience > Personas.
Apply an order filter.
Wait for Personas to refresh.
Select a persona.
Select New segment.
Configure the segment as required.
Select Save.
Marketing automatically adds an RFM Persona block to the segment definition.
The block contains the active order filters used when the segment was created.
Example
Persona = Loyal
Order filter = Ireland
The resulting segment contains contacts whose persona was calculated from Ireland order data.
The segment retains the order filter conditions used when it was created.
If you later clear the active filter in Personas, the segment continues to use the stored filter conditions.
Create a Personas segment in Segment Builder
You can also create Personas-based segments from Audience > Segments using the RFM Persona or eRFM block. Both blocks support the same order filtering options available in Personas.
